5 Tips for Dry Skin Relief

Winter weather can create dry, irritated skin. If these tips don’t help make an appointment with your dermatologist as very dry skin may benefit from a prescription ointment/cream.

  1. Take shorter showers and use warm not hot water.
  2. Immediately after getting out of the shower apply moisturizer.
  3. Ditch alcohol-based toners and products that contain fragrance in the ingredient list as it can irritate dry, sensitive skin.
  4. Use a humidifier in your room, it will add moisture to the air.
  5. Don’t stop hand washing—instead put on hand cream after each washing. If you’re constantly having your hands in water (like marathon dishwashing sessions) wear waterproof gloves.
