Chin Implants

Adds permanent definition to a weak chin whether from aging or genetics. The implant advances the chin forward, thereby creating a stronger profile and reducing the likelihood of a double chin.

After being marked, local anesthesia is injected into the skin and around the bone.  A short incision is made beneath the chin. A “pocket” is created for the implant and the implant is placed along the bone (periosteum) and stitches are used to secure it in place. The skin is then stitched in place.

A bandage and soft cervical neck collar are worn for 3 days. Stitches are removed at 7 days.  Patients can expect improving discomfort over a couple of weeks.
