How to Choose the Right Sunscreen

Protect yourself year-round! We are loving these tips from the American Academy of Dermatology for choosing the right sunscreen:

  1. Make sure the label says “Broad Spectrum” — which means the sunscreen can protect your skin from both types of harmful UV rays — UVA and UVB.
  2. The sunscreen should be SPF 30 or higher.
  3. A water resistant sunscreen will stay on wet or sweaty skin for a while before you need to reapply. Water resistance lasts either 40 or 80 minutes but not all sunscreens offer water resistance.
  4. You should use one ounce (the size of a shot glass) of sunscreen to cover the body – many people use much less!
