Celebrating Southern Marin Dermatology’s 10th Birthday
With great pride and joy, Southern Marin Dermatology celebrates 10 years of providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care in the heart of Marin. As the first and only female-partnership dermatology practice in Marin, we have many to thank for helping us reach this milestone: staff, friends, family, referring physicians, and the many patients who have shown up for us time after time.
We value the relationships we’ve made with each one of you. Our journey has been more than skin-deep; together, we’ve cultivated a sense of community. It is a privilege to be entrusted with your medical care, and we feel grateful to be your professional clinic of choice.
Your stories, families, and referrals have helped our practice flourish. We’ve grown organically from these relationships and we are committed to continuing to provide the best and most expert-driven care possible.

A Night to Remember
On November 9th, we transformed our space into a haven of joy, welcoming nearly 200 incredible guests to commemorate a decade of beautiful relationships. The air buzzed with laughter, love, and shared moments, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. Our co-founders, Dr. Ashley Smith and Dr. Shala Fardin, delivered heartfelt speeches, expressing deep gratitude for the success of our journey thus far. This was followed by some candles and cake – of course, in SMD teal!
The celebration featured local Marin favorites, such as Comforts Cafe who provided delightful cheese and charcuterie platters and cupcakes, flowing wine and champagne from Pine Ridge Winery, and vibrant flowers from Florist of Larkspur – Royal Fleur.
Exam rooms were hosted by our favorite vendors who help us provide some of our most popular treatments like Botox and Daxxify. We also highlighted our newest treatments – Sofwave and Theraclear for acne. The Hydrafacial room, hosted by our clinical esthetician Patricia, was a particular hit, offering complimentary Hydrafacial hand treatments—a small nurturing gesture to express our gratitude.
After the social hour, attendees reveled in savings on our SMD skincare and the night was topped off with announcing our dozen or so raffle winners. We gave away over $30k in treatments, making the night truly grand and one to remember.
