  Excel V is the gold standard for the treatment of everything related to blood vessels. It uses a unique, high-power green laser to heat abnormal blood vessels so it's effective on capillaries, redness, purple spider veins, red or purple birthmarks, and hemangiomas.
  
  This dual wavelength device, with both 532nm and 1064nm lasers, is highly customizable to accommodate patients' unique conditions and can be adjusted to allow precision treatments of both superficial and deeper concerns.
  
  Excel V utilizes a proprietary technology to produce continual cooling before, during and after each pulse. There is no numbing medicine required for Excel V sessions and most patients experience little-to-no recovery time, although some may experience 1-2 days of pinkness or swelling.
  
  This laser treatment is so effective that it may resolve your skin concerns in a single treatment. However, the number of sessions and cost varies depending on the nature of the treatment so you and your SMD physician will discuss all the variables and arrive at a plan beforehand.

• Fractionated CO2 Active Fx/Deep Fx/Total Fx Laser | SmoothenTightenErase

  The gold standard of ablative lasers, the Lumenis C02 laser works by removing tissue in a fractionated method (columns of skin are removed, leaving columns on either side intact to aid in healing). This treatment excels at treating deeper wrinkles, pronounced textural changes from sun damage, wrinkles, blotchiness, acne scars, as well as surgical or trauma scars.
  
  A topical numbing cream is applied and in some instances, an injection, similar to those used in dentistry, may be used. Zimmer cool air is delivered to the surface of the skin for additional comfort.
  
  Some results are immediately visible while others may take 3-6 months to appear. There is downtime associated with this comprehensive procedure. Lighter treatments can heal in 3-4 days, while more aggressive ones take 5-7.

• Fraxel Dual for Fine LInes/ Aging/ Pigment/ Melasma | TightenEraseMaintain

  This best-in-class non-ablative dual wavelength laser provides noticeably younger skin with a single treatment. The non-ablative technology (meaning no tissue is actually removed at the time of treatment) has less downtime than CO2 laser resurfacing. This laser treats most signs of early aging- including fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, surface scars (eg. acne scars), pores, melasma, and sun damage. The face, neck, chest, and hands are most commonly treated.
  
  A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment. Zimmer cool air is delivered to the surface of the skin for additional comfort.

  Using a short-pulsed, non-ablative 1064nm Nd:Yag laser to bypass skin's exposed outer layers, Genesis V stimulates deep within the surface to increase collagen production and rejuvenate healthy skin cells, promoting improved skin tone. This laser can also be used to treat mild scarring and to diminish pore size. It is safe for all skin tones.

• IPL - Intense Pulsed Light | EraseMaintain

  Sometimes referred to as phototherapy, photo-facial, or Broadband Light (BBL), the Lumenis M22 IPL is an ideal treatment for correcting the sun damage that typically presents as pigmentation (red capillaries and veins along with brown freckles and age spots) on the face or body.
  
  Topical numbing cream is applied for treatments on the face, neck and chest, while hands, arms and legs typically go without.
  
  For best results, a series of three monthly treatments is typically recommended. Recovery may be similar to a mild sunburn in appearance and brown spots may appear temporarily darker until they flake away over the course of 7-21 days.
