Oily Skin Prevention Tips

Stress, humidity, genetics and hormones can all play a part in causing oily skin. Here are our top tips for preventing and taking care of oily skin at home:
- Wash your face morning, evening and after exercise with a gentle, foaming face wash. Face washes that are harsh can actually irritate the skin and trigger increased oil production.
- Choose products that are labeled oil-free and noncomedogenic, which will help to not clog your pores or cause acne.
- Apply moisturizer that contains a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or higher each day. It will keep your skin hydrated and protect against the sun’s harmful rays.
- Use blotting papers throughout the day to absorb oil on-the-go.
- Avoid touching your face throughout the day, which can spread dirt, oil and bacteria from your hands to your face.
