Skin Cancer Awareness Month
May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, a timely reminder of the role routine skin checks play in long-term skin health. In the last year, our providers diagnosed over 770 biopsy-confirmed skin cancers and cared for more than 1,700 patients with precancerous lesions—reflecting the importance of early detection and routine full-body skin exams.
A full-body skin exam is a comprehensive, head-to-toe evaluation where your provider looks for new, changing, or unusual spots that may need closer attention. These exams are recommended for adults as part of routine skin health, and earlier or more frequently for those with a history of sun exposure, skin cancer, or a high number of moles.
